Accounting & Consolidation Manager

Job Responsibilities:

 

  • Prepares consolidation journal entries, eliminates intercompany transactions, and consolidates divisional and subsidiary financial accounts on a timely and accurate basis for inclusion in internal and external financial statements and reporting
  • Liaise with the Group’s external auditors regarding the quarterly financial statement reviews and the year-end audit, and responding on a timely basis to auditor
  • Support the implementation of new accounting standards and other business-specific accounting transactions in the Group’s accounting and reporting systems
  • Ensures accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close processes for the respective entities
  • Performs complex journal entries for HQ entities
  • Participates in the preparation of Group and Swiss standalone Financial Statements
  • Support in the evaluation of ICFR requirements, identifying controls, analyzing control gaps, and evaluating the design and operating effectiveness of controls
  • Monitors and revise policies and procedures as needed to ensure the adequacy and effectiveness of ICFR 
  • Assist the Associate Director and Head Global Finance in all tasks around financial accounting and reporting
  • Supports and reviews globally the affiliates in accounting and reporting matters with the right sense for cultural differences
  • Supports affiliate Finance Managers and HQ controllers on ad-hoc accounting matters
  • Prepares and supports various General ledger bookings and reconciliations for Swiss and certain other smaller Idorsia companies
  • Supports ERP and consolidation developments

 

 

Requirements:

 

  • At least 4 years professional experience in a group finance department or in audit business.
  • Excellent knowledge of statutory and intercompany relations and their effect within the consolidation of legal entities
  • Experience with US GAAP is an advantage 
  • Experience with Swiss statutory accounting and its application
  • Good experience with consolidation software e.g., SAP Group Reporting is a plus
  • Experience with internal controls evaluation or with COSO Internal Control Framework
  • Understanding of audit work and documentation requirements in a consistently changing economic environment and accounting requirements
  • Good analytical, planning and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment, while managing multiple tasks and responsibilities simultaneously
  • Excellent communication skills, ability to communicate with external and internal partners
  • Clear sense of priorities, meeting deadlines and timely planning of recurring tasks and closing requirements
  • Self-starter capable of working independently, highly self-motivated
  • Fluent in English; German and French is a plus
