Global Portfolio Communications (Corporate Communications & IR)
Allschwil, Basel Area, BL, CH
Idorsia is a leading biopharmaceutical company with a strong scientific core. The success of the company is closely connected to its public reputation and the engagement of its stakeholders. Communication is a critical enabler of trust and credibility – supporting the company’s ambition, reinforcing its scientific leadership, and helping build long‑term confidence among all audiences.
We are looking for a hands‑on communications expert to join a small, high‑performing team in a fast‑paced environment where ambitions and expectations are high. You will work with a high degree of independence, taking ownership of complex topics, prioritizing effectively, and adapting quickly as Idorsia’s portfolio continues to advance.
This is a highly visible role, accountable for the design and implementation of global communications strategies that shape how Idorsia’s innovative research, development, and commercial portfolio – across multiple therapeutic areas – is communicated to key corporate end audiences, with a primary focus on the investor community, alongside media, employees, partners, and the broader public. You will translate complex science into clear, compelling narratives that support Idorsia’s corporate reputation and highlight the differentiation and progress of its pipeline. While this role does not involve direct engagement with investors, it plays a central role in shaping the scientific and portfolio narratives that underpin investor‑facing communications and disclosures.
What You Will Do
- Own and execute global communications strategies for portfolio assets across multiple therapeutic areas, aligned with the overall corporate communications strategy and tailored to relevant corporate audiences.
- Shape and steward the scientific narrative around Idorsia’s innovation, R&D, and commercial progress, ensuring complex concepts are translated into clear, credible language suitable for investor‑facing communications and other corporate audiences.
- Partner closely with Medical Affairs, Compliance, and Regulatory Affairs to ensure scientific accuracy, appropriate expert input, executive management approval, and full compliance with applicable pharma codes.
- Collaborate with the Business Development team to support the positioning of assets for potential partnering discussions.
- Drive communications around key inflection points, including clinical trial results, scientific publications, regulatory updates, and major international medical congresses.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive communications armamentarium, including key messages, Q&A, issue handlers, and presentation materials.
- Ensure portfolio‑related communications are accurate, consistent, and investor‑ready, supporting use in regulated disclosures, corporate materials, and other external communications.
- Act as a trusted communications advisor to cross‑functional teams and senior stakeholders on portfolio‑related opportunities, risks, and narratives.
What You Bring
- Advanced degree in life sciences, medicine, pharmacy, or related discipline.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in corporate, scientific, or healthcare communications within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry.
- Strong understanding of pharmaceutical R&D, clinical development, and regulatory processes.
- Proven ability to translate complex scientific and clinical data into clear, compelling, and audience‑appropriate communications.
- Experience supporting communications around clinical data releases, scientific publications, and regulatory milestones.
- Strong stakeholder management skills and experience working in global cross-functional environments.
- Excellent writing, strategic thinking, and storytelling capabilities, with a high standard of attention to detail.
Why This Role Matters
Idorsia is at a pivotal stage in its evolution, with a diverse and advancing R&D and commercial portfolio that will increasingly define how the company is understood by the investor community and other key external stakeholders, including media, partners, employees, and the scientific community. How our science is explained – and how consistently and credibly it is communicated – matters as much as the science itself.
This role sits at the heart of that challenge. As the Global Portfolio Communications Lead, you will shape the narratives that explain our innovation, progress, and differentiation at moments that matter most: clinical milestones, regulatory events, scientific publications, and major medical meetings. Your work will directly influence how the portfolio is perceived externally and will support the company’s long‑term strategic objectives.
Operating at the intersection of science, strategy, and reputation, this role offers high visibility and tangible impact. You will work closely with senior leaders and cross‑functional experts to ensure that Idorsia’s scientific ambition is matched by clear, credible, and effective communication – helping the company tell its story with confidence and consistency as it continues to grow.
