Job Responsibilities


With a significant degree of self-responsibility, the successful candidate will:  

  • Design and perform experiments to support our Cardiovascular drug discovery programs 
  • Develop and routinely use in vitro target- and disease-relevant assay systems required for the characterization of small molecules  
  • Use electronic lab book system to record his/her work 
  • Write draft scientific summary reports 
  • Prepare and give presentations about his/her work to the Lab/Group/Project Team
  • Share with lab colleagues in maintaining an efficient and safe work environment 

 

Candidate’s Requirements

 

  • Master or equivalent degree in Cell biology, Molecular biology, Biotechnology or related field with at least two years’ experience in research. 
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry would be an advantage. 
  • Strong experience in the following techniques:  
    • Mammalian cell culture (recombinant and non-recombinant cell lines, primary cells) 
    • Common protein methodologies: Western blotting, ELISA, Luminex 
    • Cell based assays using fluorescent and luminescent readouts 
    • Transfection and transduction techniques to generate recombinant cell lines
    • Receptor signaling assays 
  • Experience in the following techniques would be an asset: 
    • FLIPR/FDSS 
    • Gene editing technologies (CRISPR) 
    • FACS 
    • High content imaging analysis  
  • Personal skills:
    • Able to perform experiments in a precise and reliable manner 
    • Well-organized multitasker 
    • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills 
    • Fast learner, flexible and good team player 
    • Dynamic, flexible, scientifically curious and willing to learn new skills and techniques
    • Highly motivated to work in an international and interdisciplinary team 
    • Good command of written and spoken English; command of French or German would be an advantage
