Scientist, Metabolite Structure Analysis


Job Responsibilities


  • Heading a laboratory for metabolite structure identification
  • Planning, conducting, monitoring and reporting of all metabolite identification studies of a small molecule drug pipeline in all phases of drug discovery and development 
  • Responsible for monitoring the scientific and technical progress in the field
  • Responsible for the preparation of regulatory and non-regulatory documents, i.e. IB, IND, NDA, study reports, scientific publications
  • Acting as the drug metabolism and pharmacokinetics (DMPK) project leader in multidisciplinary discovery and development projects, responsible for the co-ordination of all DMPK activities from early lead optimization up to regulatory filing


Candidate Requirements


  • PhD in a scientific area related to structure identification and drug metabolism
  • Demonstrated experience in the field of metabolite structure identification and quantification with 3-5 years industry experience in DMPK
  • Experience in metabolite structure identification from both in vitro and in vivo sources by utilizing state-of-the-art liquid chromatography high-resolution mass spectrometry 
  • Solid background in DMPK science
  • Familiar with EMA/FDA/ICH guidelines
  • Very good team-working and communication skills with the capability to work in a dynamic and interdisciplinary environment
  • Excellent command of English; German or any other major European language would be an asset
