Job Requirements

 

  • Write, edit and review scientific publications such as original research articles, abstracts and congress presentations (posters, slides) according to the direction from the authors and in collaboration with key cross-functional stake-holders
  • Assist in the preparation and development of publication plans for a specific compound within a therapeutic area.
  • Work together with the in-house Editorial Group to produce high-quality documents in compliance with GPP and Idorsia’s publication policy
  • Lead or assist with the selection and management of external medical writing services, and co-ordinate the support provided by such agencies
  • Manage and document the review and approval process of a publication prior to submission and complete the submission to the journal/congress

 

Candidate Requirements

 

  • A degree in life sciences (BSc and/or MSc/PhD or equivalent)
  • English mother tongue, or excellent spoken and written English
  • Well developed and proven medical writing skills with specific emphasis on scientific publications written for peer reviewed journals
  • At least 5 years of experience as a medical writer in the pharmaceutical industry or medical communications agency across several therapeutic areas
  • Good knowledge of GPP and ICMJE guidelines and the medical publications process
  • The ability to quickly develop a deep understanding of scientific data within a therapeutic area
  • Experience in developing materials associated with publication planning and strategy, such as GAP Analyses, lexicon, scientific statements is a plus
  • Knowledge of Datavision or equivalent is a plus
  • ISMPP CMPP qualification is a plus
  • The ability to develop and mentor junior medical publication writers
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • The ability to work under pressure and meet challenging deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills
