Job Responsibilities



The Director, Global Customer Insights Lead is a critical business partner for the HQ commercial team and key affiliates to ensure insights driven and customer centric strategies and decision making.



The Director, Global Customer Insights Lead will:

  • Develop product-specific insights plans and execute on these
  • Lead the primary insights planning process and associated work streams
  • Identify key business issues, barriers and drivers that impact short-term and long-range product performance; clearly and pro-actively surface these issues and opportunities
  • Drive the results of primary research into the Idorsia forecast model(s) to reflect anticipated customer behavior
  • Define market research processes and build capabilities in primary research, including new digital and data access solutions
  • Champion the use of customer insights in strategic and tactical decisions across the business
  • Monitor the external environment to stay up to date on leading analytical and market research capabilities, both within and outside of pharma, which can be applied within the organization

In this role you will lead quantitative and qualitative market research projects, generate customer insights and provide strategic and tactical recommendations for key brands at Idorsia. You will also lead the insights generation process for key brands to prepare for brand strategy updates - and help optimize our brand strategy process in collaboration with the commercial management team.

You are expected to provide management with “best in class” customer insights analysis to enable strategic and operational decision making. You are adept at maintaining strong business relationships with global brand teams, market access, and key affiliates. The role requires a combination of structured project management skills, the ability to analyze and synthesize large amounts of data in order to derive insights and the ability to challenge and refine assumptions and beliefs. Further, as a Customer Insights Lead you are expected to drive learnings across the team to improve processes and insights generated. The role will also include coaching and potentially leading colleagues as the company grows.

This role is reserved for someone with a strong business understanding who is a thought leader in insights generation towards launch and with extraordinary influencing and collaborative skills. As such, those who will qualify for this position are both technically sound and have the ability to be a proactive internal consultant, adding value to the company's commercial organization beyond their analytical prowess through their understanding of market research, deep industry knowledge, and track record of innovative and impactful decision support.


Candidate’s Requirements


  • Master’s Degree in Business/Economics/Social Science/Life science
  • 8+ years of customer insights experience in pharma or related fields
  • Broad and deep experience with both qualitative and quantitative market research methodologies in a pre-launch and launch pharma setting
  • Proven track record in working as an insights partner in a matrix organization where you support marketing, market access, insights functions and key affiliates towards launch of key assets
  • Experience from PCP and specialty pharma launches a plus
  • Strong experience in bridging business priorities with relevant global insights solutions  
  • Experience in building, deploying, and embedding capabilities into an organization
  • Experience in working across primary and secondary data insights
  • Reportable accomplishments around converting derived insight into actionable strategic and tactical guidance
  • Proven record of successfully driving an insights plan for a brand towards and beyond launch
  • Proven ability to influence cross-functionally and manage multiple, complex demands.
  • Strong business acumen and sense of urgency in sharing critical information with relevant stakeholders
  • Flexibility to manage in a fast-changing environment
  • Can-do attitude with a high degree of independence and impact
  • Strategic thinker with superior problem-solving skills
  • Proven ability to perform complex international insights projects
  • Excellent written/verbal communication, presentation and project management skills
  • English: fluent, spoken and written (essential)
