Job responsibilities


 
The Head of Preclinical Galenics will lead a small group of scientists and labs responsible for preclinical galenics and the assessment of technical feasibility of formulations for clinical trials.
 

  • Lead and supervise a group of scientists focusing on formulation development and supply for pharmacology, pharmacokinetic and toxicological experiments.
  • If required by the compound properties and the developability classification provide early assessment of technical feasibility of enabling formulations.
  • Constantly ensure scientific expertise to support the appropriate delivery of new drugs with unfavorable physico-chemical properties.
  • Implement wherever possible digitalization, modelling and predictive tools.
  • Lead the direct reports by setting priorities and goals, organizing resources, coaching and providing feedback to direct reports.
  • Constantly review current practices and streamline processes with the focus on efficiency.
  • Represent the group in drug discovery projects, preclinical development teams, CMC and life cycle teams.

 

Candidate’s requirements
 

  • Chemist / Pharmacist or equivalent with PhD.
  • Demonstrated scientific excellence with a strong background in analytical sciences.
  • Minimum of 8 years job relevant working experience in the pharmaceutical industry and/or academic institutions (with a minimum of 5 years in pharmaceutical industry).
  • Good understanding of the pharmaceutical development requirements for compounds entering clinical development.
  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills to facilitate team work and strong cross functional working relationships.
  • Strong sense of organization and ability to manage multiple tasks with competing priorities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
