The Global Master Data Manager (MDM) ensures the correct execution of the Idorsia MDM strategy encompassing the scope linked to business functions owning Material, Supplier, Customer, Finance Master Data objects and internal partners and associated structures, (such as plants, warehouses, storage locations, etc.).


The role is subsequent to the creation of business MDM function into Idorsia and will contribute to the definition and development of the different MDM Process, Standards, Policy & Procedure according to the model defined, Pharmaceutical and Healthcare industry standard requirements, MDM principles and good practices. The job holder will work closely with the Idorsia IT Function with a purpose to, on one hand leverage as much possible the technology to bring efficiency and automation in the MDM Processes and Workflows, and on the other hand for ensuring that all Idorsia Business Processes and Systems are using trusted Master Data from validated Master Data sources.


The role also acts as an essential MDM advisor and contributor to the different Idorsia Functions projects, ensuring the effective and continuous alignment between the business evolving needs, and the MDM set up by acting on the 4 MDM components : Data, Process, Organization and Technology and ensure that the MDM evolution and development are correctly represented in the Idorsia MDM Roadmap.



Job Responsibilities


  • Develop MDM Process, Standards, Governance, and associated Policy & Procedure for the Global MDM model, relating to Material, Supplier and Customer and Finance Master Data
  • Coordinate the MDM Process, Governance and Organization establishment with the business functions and IT function partner
  • Ensure that Master data objects do follow the good Master Data Process practices such as Request, Approval, Data collection, Validation and System Entry Maintenance and Distribution.
  • Act as Global Data steward for critical Master Data entities and as escalation point for any Data Governance issues
  • Ensures the MDM process and organization deliver effective and qualitative Master Data input into IT systems according to the various defined area of business responsibility
  • Promote the Master Data Strategy within Idorsia with continuous improvement
  • Understand and build collaborative relationships with key cross functional stakeholders engaged into the MDM discipline, such as Finance, Supply Chain, Quality, Regulatory, Sales & Marketing, Legal, etc.
  • Ensure the accuracy of the Master Data inventory and related documentation with the support of the MDM community
  • Communicate all Master Data Management updates with the MDM community
  • Act as Subject Matter Expert for the different Business and IT projects requiring Master Data Management expertise
  • Prepare related presentations for senior management with minimal coaching as required at Global level as well as for Regional purpose



Candidate Requirements


  • BA/BS (or equivalent) required, master’s degree preferred
  • MDM related certifications (CDMP, DGSP, or similar) and/or Project Management education and certification is an asset
  • 7+ years of experience in roles or function linked to Business Master Data Management business function, and/or Data Quality projects, with at least a few years within Pharmaceutical Industry
  • Experience in MDM Solution design and implementation project(s) by designing MDM processes and workflows and setting Data Quality rules
  • Experience in establishing Standard Operating Procedures, Standards and “How To guides”
  • Strong Knowledge and on-hands experience of SAP S4H business requirements, with a focus on relevant MDM areas associated to Material, Supplier, Customer, and Finance Master Data Objects
  • Proven record of successfully working within a global matrix organization and to engage and collaborate with all levels of seniority
  • Experience in Data Quality, from Data Quality rules to set at source to Data Quality monitoring to drive proactive and corrective maintenance activities
  • Understanding the functional as well as business environment, and able to have in depth comprehension of their operational requirements in perspective of SAP system related functionalities and associated master data management dimension
  • Good communicator, able to elaborate clearly and simply on complex topics, navigating between business-oriented approaches and system-oriented approaches
  • Capability to transform data issues in opportunities targeting excellence in Master Data Management
  • Excellent English knowledge (written and spoken)
