Job Responsibilities

 

The Network Engineer is responsible for the management of Global Network services throughout the company. This includes the planning, implementation, integration, testing and management of the network devices, with a clear understanding of the pharmaceutical regulations within GxP environments.

 

  • Designing, maintaining and operating the Global Network Infrastructure, including LAN and WAN services in a Hybrid-Cloud environment.
  • Close collaboration with the Facility Management team to support them in network related matters like in-house cabling, power and cooling requirements for the IT infrastructure, and IoT initiatives.
  • Creating network related QS Documentation (Change control, IOQs) in compliance with the relevant company policies and standards.
  • Ensuring compliance of the Global Network infrastructure with Quality requirements as well as IT and Security Policies.
  • Participation in development of IT Network strategy and roadmap.
  • Project management for business initiatives.
  • Writing technical documentation and user manuals for the different network services.
  • Responsible for the top tier incident escalations and remediation for incidents where a high level of expertise in the IT Network field is required.
  • Managing software and hardware lifecycle processes including vendor management, coordination of qualification activities, with development/execution of tests and end user communication
  • Ongoing monitoring, troubleshooting, user support and maintenance of network devices and services to ensure customer satisfaction

 

 

Candidate’s Requirements

 

  • University degree in science, computer science, management information systems, or related field
  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry
  • Cisco CCNA certified, CCNP is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge in networking technologies like cabling (Copper, Fiber, connector types), switching (VLANs, STP), Routing (OSPF, BGP, VRF), DNS, DHCP
  • Strong Knowledge of Next-Generation Firewalling, IPSec VPNs, and network security technologies.
  • Knowledge of Wireless standards and enterprise wireless solutions.
  • Experience with automation tools like Ansible, Terraform is a plus.
  • Practice in development of system documentation, training documentation and end-user communication
  • Good knowledge of regulated environments (GxP)
  • Strong communication skills, able to understand problems and present solutions towards business partners
  • Good analytical skills, ability to understand business requirements and to transform them into IT solutions
  • Independent, hands-on working style, team player, highly self-motivated, autonomous, proactive, change and user oriented
  • Fluent in English and German (written and spoken), French is a plus.
