We are looking for an enthusiastic and really motivated Publications Medical Writer to join our team !

 

Key Responsibilities :

 

  • Write, edit and review scientific publications such as original research articles, abstracts and congress presentations (posters, slides) according to the direction from the authors and in collaboration with key cross-functional stake-holders in compliance with GPP and Idorsia’s publication policy

  • Manage and document the review and approval process of a publication prior to submission and complete the submission to the journal/congress

  • Assist in the preparation and development of strategic publication plans for a specific compound within a therapeutic area.

  • When necessary, lead or assist with the selection and management of external medical writing services, and co-ordinate the support provided by such agencies

  • Provide Publications Management support

 

Requirements :

 

  • Advanced scientific degree (PhD, PharmD or MS) preferred

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a medical writer across several therapeutic areas in the pharmaceutical industry or medical communications agency

  • Well-developed and proven medical writing skills with specific emphasis on scientific publications written for peer reviewed journal

  • The ability to quickly develop a deep understanding of scientific data within a therapeutic area

  • Good knowledge of GPP and ICMJE guidelines and the medical publications process
    • ISMPP CMPP qualification is a must
  • Experience in developing materials associated with publication planning and strategy, such as GAP Analyses, lexicon, scientific statements is a plus

  • Ability to use power point, Adobe Illustrator and/or other graphics software to develop visually appealing scientific communications materials

  • Knowledge of an electronic publication management system (e.g. PubStrat/Datavision) is a must

  • The ability to develop and mentor less experienced medical publication writers

  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • The ability to work under pressure and meet challenging deadlines

  • Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills especially to Senior management/stakeholders

  • English mother tongue (preferred), or excellent spoken and written English
