Job responsibilities


In this role you will join an established Immunology Cell and Molecular Biology group that supports Idorsia’s Immunology drug discovery portfolio. You will drive drug discovery projects at stages from inception and through preclinical development as a key member of integrated multi-disciplinary project teams. You will work in a matrix environment where initiative, close teamwork and a strong scientific background is required.


The successful candidate will

  • Lead, manage, support and coach scientific associates in a research laboratory
  • Develop and implement cellular and molecular tools, employing a wide range of assay technologies and state of the art methodologies
  • Explore novel drug discovery targets in close collaboration with other Idorsia scientists
  • Develop and drive drug discovery project strategies, including new project proposals
  • Design and conduct mechanism-of-action and molecular pharmacological studies
  • Enhance scientific understanding of immunology in the context of drug candidates and drug targets
  • Write nonclinical sections of regulatory documents (or participate in the writing of nonclinical sections of regulatory documents)
  • Display outstanding teamwork and communication skills
  • Provide project teams with structure-activity relationship data
  • Collaborate closely with other disciplines in drug discovery
  • Documentation and storing of experiments and reports according to company rules
  • Establish and manage external collaborations


Candidate’s requirements


  • PhD in immunology
  • Dynamic scientist with proven track record of innovation and building strong collaborative working relationships.
  • At least 5 years research experience since PhD graduation preferentially in the field of immunology/inflammation
  • Industrial experience would be advantageous
  • Strong interest to contribute to the discovery of novel medicines within multidisciplinary teams
  • Excellent communication skills, team-spirit and flexible mindset
  • Excellent knowledge of English. Good knowledge of German and French is advantageous
