Job Responsibilities 


The Security Engineer is ensuring that Information Security requirements, defined standards and practices are appropriately addressed within the company. This includes planning, implementation, integration, testing, support, monitoring and management of information security systems, applications or tools, with a clear understanding of the pharmaceutical computer systems validation (CSV) regulations. 


  • Design, implement and operate a security log management service 
  • Operate Idorsia’s identity and access management system and develop additional components related to IAM 
  • Building security tools and utilities, configuration of new functionalities and update of existing IT security related systems 
  • Continuously aim to improve the team's operational efficiency by suggesting process updates or automating recurring operational tasks 
  • Handle day to day operational tasks such as troubleshooting, user support and maintenance of systems 
  • Responding to security incidents, including forensics, corrective measures or communication activities while proactively considering the prevention of similar incidents from occurring in the future 
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of the Information Security roadmap 
  • Manage system releases process including vendor management, coordination of qualification activities, with development/execution of tests and end user communication 
  • Perform proactive monitoring 
  • Guarantee compliance to CSV requirements, IT Policies and standards, including the creation of system related QS documentation (IOQs) in compliance with relevant policies and standards 
  • Ensure that proper documentation is complete and up-to-date 


Candidate’s Requirements 


  • University degree in computer science, management information systems, or related technical field 
  • Minimum 5 years of demonstrated experience in areas such as systems security, incident response, forensics, SIEM management, application security 
  • Strong scripting skills (e.g., Python, bash, PowerShell, …) 
  • Understanding of best practices in security engineering: secure development, network security, security operations, systems security, policy and incident response 
  • Experience with common security monitoring, log analysis and forensic tools 
  • Practice in development of system documentation, training documentation and end-user communication 
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, hands-on working style, reliable, autonomous, proactive, team player fostering good working atmosphere and showing a strong interest in cyber security 
  • Ability to work on different projects and activities simultaneously 
  • Strong communication skills and understanding of business requirements and technology to support business objectives 
  • Experience working in a cloud environment is a plus 
  • Knowledge of regulated environments (GxP) is a plus 
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken)
