For our Finance & Procurement organization, we are seeking a temporary Category Manager (100%) for 6 months as of Q3 2020.

Job Responsibilities

The Category Manager is responsible for the global execution of the defined procurement strategy in close collaboration with our business functions. S/he will be part of a team of procurement specialists and will lead the supplier selections, supplier relationship management tasks and process improvement activities:

1. Execution of procurement strategy

  • Managing data analysis and reporting, e.g. analyzing spend, demand, supply markets and competitors. Extracting, cleansing and consolidating information to fact-based insights for further usage e.g. in category strategies
  • Responsible for the execution of a defined procurement strategy/category strategy.
  • Support definition and implementation of Procurement tools and processes
  • Select preferred suppliers based on business requirements in order to achieve strategic procurement objectives.
  • Market observation, identification of innovations and early recognition of market price changes.
  • Provide internal customers with information and guidance about strategic procurement goals, procurement regulations and processes.

 

2. Supplier relationship management

  • Monitor ITC category related P2P process and correspondent KPIs.
  • Continuously improve collaboration and P2P processes with preferred suppliers.
  • Maintain and monitor the relationship with preferred suppliers in order to achieve the strategic procurement goals.
  • Compliance & risk management: manage the creation of reports, analyze them and define appropriate actions to achieve the required compliance level.
  • Monitoring end-to-end compliance (budget, payment, vendor PO, contract invoice, buying channel, etc.

 

3. Managing of tenders

  • Collaborate with the business functions to support the collection of business requirements.
  • Managing the collection of respective market data/market intelligence.
  • Creation of RfX documentation based on business requirements.
  • Lead the RfX process on behalf of the business function.
  • Lead data consolidation and evaluation activities in collaboration with the business function.
  • Present the outcome of the RfX to the project sponsor and respective management team.

 

Candidate’s Requirements

  • An exciting opportunity to develop her/his skills in the pharmaceutical industry in the area of indirect procurement
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or Supply Management or related discipline
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in indirect procurement or in an Information Technology function in a pharmaceutical company
  • Negotiation skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Experience with procurement and reporting tools
  • Process and solution oriented with a strong customer focus
  • Good analytical skills, able to understand problems and present solutions toward suppliers and internal customers
  • Good communication and listening skills, team player and change-oriented
  • Good verbal and written skills in English and German
