For our Analytics and Purification Team, embedded in the Drug Discovery Chemistry unit, we are seeking a motivated Research Technician for a temporary assignment of 6 months from the beginning of July.

 

Job Responsibilities

 

  • Perform chromatographic analysis of chiral compounds, using all common chromatographic techniques, like supercritical fluid chromatography, liquid chromatography and MS coupling.
  • Develop methods for the preparative separation of chiral compounds.
  • Perform preparative separations on a milligram to multigram scale.
  • Document practical work using our electronic documentation system
  • Perform general lab duties
  • Plan daily practical work
  • Take care of and maintain technical instrumentation

 

Candidate’s Requirements

 

  • Apprenticeship or Bachelor in chemistry. PhD will not be considered.
  • Experience in preparative organic chemistry is of advantage.
  • Basic knowledge of chromatographic techniques, like HPLC and LC-MS
  • Willingness to learn new skills and techniques
  • Ability to plan and accurately document practical work
  • Good communication and team-working skills
  • Fluent in German, good knowledge of English
  • Basic computer skills
  • Technical and instrumentation skills
  • Problem-solving attitude
  • Well-organized, flexible in work assignment and work schedule
  • Hands-on attitude and ability to work efficiently and independently
  • Service-oriented attitude
