Job Responsibilities

 

As a trainee at the Clinical Manufacturing Unit 1, the position will be assigned a development project and with guidance from a mentor and team members, the trainee will be carrying out study planning, experiments, characterization, reporting and interpretation of results. The assignments vary from development of new tablet / capsule formulations including multiparticulate delivery systems prepared by using twin-screw granulation or other novel technologies to evaluation of disintegration / release mechanisms, and formulation characteristics. Typical research questions involve consideration for the materials and processes used in developing the formulations, and their effect on the product characteristics, like content uniformity, disintegration and profile of drug release, or the maintenance of drug integrity in the formulations. The assignments are driven by need for improvement, understanding or creation of new formulation properties.

 

Candidate Requirements

 

Education:

  • Master’s degree or equivalent in life sciences, with relevant courses or majoring in drug formulation, material science, pharmaceutical sciences

 

Experience:

  • Junior position; no previous industry experience required


Skills:

  • Willing to learn formulation, process and analytical methods to support our development work
  • Good English skills (both, spoken and written)
  • Good computer skills
  • Team spirit, sense of responsibility, accuracy, flexibility to work in different teams
  • Readiness to work in cGMP environment (with respective clothing, hygiene and behaviour requirements) and to work in personal protection equipment (e.g. full-face masks, full protection suits with external breathing air supply, gloves etc.)
