As Idorsia continues to shape and strengthen its European & Canadian (EUCAN) organization, you will have the unique opportunity to play a key role in establishing and evolving the HR function and its processes, while supporting employees across EUCAN countries, in close collaboration with the Head of HR EUCAN, Global HR, and local affiliates.

 

We are looking for an experienced HR Business Partner used to support demanding clients in a challenging and changing business environment with a proven record of contributing to the business strategy by helping identify, prioritize, build, and transform organizational capabilities, behaviors, structures, and processes.

 

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Support EUCAN HR Leadership: Act as a strategic partner to the Head of HR EUCAN in managing central HR processes, including budgeting, workforce planning, and HR project coordination across affiliates.
  • Contribute to Business & HR Strategy: Help identify, prioritize, and build organizational capabilities, structures, and processes that support the EUCAN business strategy
  • Recruitment & Talent Acquisition: Manage end-to-end recruitment processes for Switzerland and support other EUCAN countries where needed – from defining hiring needs with line managers, to candidate selection, offer management, and coordination with HR Services.
  • Workforce Planning & Talent Pipeline: Support line managers in forecasting talent needs in alignment with EUCAN priorities, ensuring long-term pipeline and succession planning.
  • People Processes: Drive core HR processes (performance management, talent development, career growth) ensuring consistency across EUCAN and alignment with global frameworks.
  • Change Management: Partner with local leaders to implement change initiatives and guide managers and employees during organizational transitions.
  • Employee Relations & Support: Provide advice and coaching to employees and managers on a range of topics (induction, performance, development, underperformance, exit processes), leveraging HR Services and global expertise when needed.
  • Employee Experience & Engagement: Capture employee feedback, anticipate needs and concerns, and proactively contribute to engagement and retention initiatives across EUCAN.
  • HR Services & Process Efficiency: Collaborate closely with HR Services, ensuring accurate data and smooth handling of employee life cycle events; participate in the design, optimization, and implementation of efficient HR tools and processes.
  • Onboarding & Development: Deliver and continuously improve the local onboarding program in Switzerland and support the alignment of onboarding across EUCAN.
  • Collaboration & Best Practice Sharing: Maintain strong connections with HRBPs in other affiliates, ensuring consistency and knowledge sharing, while fostering collaboration with Global HR specialist functions.
  • Governance & Compliance: Ensure adherence to HR policies, procedures, and employment laws; monitor compliance and foster awareness across EUCAN.
  • People Metrics & KPIs: Monitor, analyze, and follow up on HR key performance indicators, providing insights and recommendations to improve organizational effectiveness.

 

Candidate’s Requirements 

 

  • Bachelor or equivalent degree with a preference for specialized qualification in HR or job relevant work experience
  • Minimum 6 years’ experience as HR Generalist/Business Partner in an international environment, preferably in pharmaceutical industry
  • Good knowledge of all HR operational processes and proven record of successfully managing full recruitment & staffing process
  • Knowledge of European labor law and regulations is an advantage
  • Pro-active, pragmatic, with a proven record of driving things through to completion
  • Strong verbal and written communication and influencing skills with the capability to engage at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to multi-task, effectively deal with ambiguity and challenge status quo
  • Solution oriented with a sense of urgency and high customer orientation
  • Team player, fostering collaboration and at ease to develop relationships within a culturally diverse organization
  • Proven track record of initiating and implementing various HR projects successfully impacting business and senior level stakeholders, as well as effective collaboration with diverse external partners
  • Business fluency in written and spoken English
