We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Senior Publications Medical Writer to join our great Publications Team !

Job responsibilities 

 

The Idorsia publications team is expanding and requires the skills of an experienced, senior medical writer, reporting to the Senior Publications Team leader. The role will be dedicated to medical writing activities including congress materials and manuscripts, reporting clinical trial data across a broad portfolio of compounds and therapeutic indications. There is potential for career progression for the right candidate.

 

Candidate’s requirements

 

  • Minimum requirement: Life sciences degree (BSc and/or MSc/PhD or equivalent)
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a medical writer across several therapeutic areas in the pharmaceutical industry or medical communications agency
  • Well-developed and proven medical writing skills with specific emphasis on scientific publications written for peer-reviewed journals and scientific congresses
  • Fluent in English, for both written and oral communication; native English speaking preferred
  • The ability to quickly develop a deep understanding of scientific data and terminology within a therapeutic area
  • The ability to think analytically, and translate results into strong scientific communication points
  • Good organizational, problem solving, and interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to confidently communicate directly with senior management and external stakeholders
  • Good leadership skills; ability to manage sometimes conflicting reviewer comments 
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet short timelines without compromising quality
  • Experience in organizing and leading kick-off calls with authors
  • Ability to work both independently and within a cross-functional team to prioritize and coordinate multiple competing tasks
  • Good knowledge of GPP and ICMJE guidelines and the medical publications process. ISMPP CMPP qualification is a plus
  • Ability to use various software programs such as the Microsoft office suite, endnote (or similar), Adobe Illustrator and/or other graphics applications 
  • Knowledge of an electronic publication management system (e.g. PubStrat/Datavision) is a plus
  • Results driven attitude and good time management skills
  • A team player who openly shares knowledge and expertise 
  • A sense of humor is a must
