Job Responsibilities

The Associate Director, Medical Information EUCAN will lead the establishment of the EUCAN Medical Information function at Idorsia. S/he will provide strategic and tactical expertise to the Global Medical Information team. Additionally, this role contributes to various Global Medical Information projects and processes such as, vendor management, SOP generation, digitally driven solutions implementation, etc. The Associate Director, Medical Information EUCAN will help anchor the single Global content strategy based on science, with local variations dictated by local regulations that will be executed upon by the Medical Information teams operating in Europe and Canada.


Main responsibilities include:
•    As an integral member of the Global Medical Information and Medical Affairs teams, the Associate Director, Medical Information EUCAN will be delivering on the Global Medical Information strategy and driving its roll out by creating or adapting best in class Medical Information resources (e.g. Standard Response Letters, FAQs, Med Info Insights Reports etc.) to support internal and external stakeholders.
•    Collaborate with the Global team for the creation of a robust Global Medical Information process that is fit for the business requirements and is audit- and inspection ready. This includes responsibility for the generation of regional and local Medical Information SOPs/Working Practices, supporting the Global Database implementation (including training of internal/external partners), Global content execution, and metric & insights generation to drive business decisions.
•    Adapt and tailor global Medical Information resources to EUCAN and/or create regional resources such slide decks and Customized Responses to address HCP and various other customer enquiries.
o    Reflects the scientific data in a fair, balanced way 
o    Local Standard content are drafted according to the TA/Product Strategy and customer insights and local regulation and needs
o    Custom content is drafted as a matter of priority to address HCP and other customer requests with a sense of urgency and in coordination with various internal stakeholders

•    Coordinating with external agencies and partners that support any administrative Global or regional Medical Information tasks.
•    Responsible for training Medical and Commercial Teams on the Global and regional Medical Information process and on the key content generation plans and deliverables.
•    Ensures on all levels cross-functional collaboration, particularly with Pharmacovigilance, Quality Assurance, Marketing, Market Access, Regulatory and R&D.



Candidate’s Requirements

The Associate Director, Medical Information EUCAN will be an experienced professional with a strong, successful track record in medical information including in high pace, high volume therapeutic areas. As a collaborative, hands on individual, the successful candidate will have the agility to operate in a dynamic, science-driven environment. S/he will stand out for customer focus, a quality driven mindset, an innovation driven approach, and the ability to build bridges within the wider business.

Specifically, s/he will demonstrate the following:

•   Scientific educational background and minimum 5 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry predominantly in the medical information function
•    Experience in a medical information role regionally and/or globally is highly advantageous
•   Proven track record of delivering high quality Medical Information resources (e.g. Standard Response Letters, FAQs, Med Info Insights Reports etc.) and operating within various cross-functional projects to improve functional capabilities
•    Ability to tackle strategic and tactical tasks 
•   Strong communication (oral and written) skills, fluent English (additional European language is a plus), and ability to effectively work within multicultural environment and demonstrate high flexibility
