For our Site Management Team in Allschwil we are looking for a motivated and experienced Project Manager Engineering in a pharmaceutical environment. The main purpose of this role is the overall execution of small to large conversion and investment projects (focus on pharma/biotech/chemical) in compliance with project guidelines as well as customer specific or regulatory norms and standards. A pragmatic and hands-on approach, especially for smaller projects, is required. In addition, the role will be responsible for the compliance with quality requirements, schedules and costs in the respective projects. Leading the multidisciplinary project team is also part of the responsibilities. The role will be win charge of all aspects of our lifecycle-oriented projects, from the preparation and monitoring of the UR / URS through execution to documentation and proper handover to Facilities Operations. Furthermore, building and maintaining strong internal "customer" relationships is essential.

 

Job Purpose

 

  • Project management and project supervising of small to large construction and organizational projects (offices, labs, etc.)
  • Construction and Conversion Management, compliant with internal project guidelines as well as customer-specific or regulatory norms and standards
  • Ensure quality, costs and timely supply of requested building and conversion projects
  • Ensure quality of processes and data flows
  • Ensure working safety within fields of responsibilities


Responsiblities

 

  • Conduct life cycle phase-oriented construction / conversion projects
    • Enable a proper operation of facilities in close collaboration with Facility Operations
    • Involve all relevant stakeholders according internal project guidelines 
    • Deliver completed projects including relevant documentation
  • Project management and project supervising of construction and organizational projects
    • Functional, technical project development (CRS, UR, URS)
    • Project management as representative of the internal customer
    • Project responsibility for quality, budget and schedule
  • Performing sustainable project optimizations under life cycle aspects
  • Provide related KPI’s and benchmarks for operation and construction projects
  • Budget responsibility for annual budget for construction projects, as well as team budget
  • Define requirements and participating in supplier tenders and selection
  • Ensure quality of project-related data and documentations in CAFM-, CAD- and physical databases
  • Accountability for keeping internal standards of Facility Management and HSSE in the work environment
  • Conduct negotiations with external service providers, sourcing and management of contracts
  • Supervision of external service providers
  • Support Head of Site Management in Business Continuity Planning and Disaster Recovery Planning
  • Carrying out the role in the Site Management Emergency Organization

 

Candidate’s Requirements 

 

Education:

  • Master’s degree in Engineering / Architecture or similar (e.g. Chemical and Pharmaceutical Engineering)

 

Job experience:

  • Comprehensive skills in project management e.g. construction management of demanding projects in pharmaceutical environment (min 5 years)
  • Significant experience working on design-build projects and owner’s representative projects is required
  • Significant knowledge of the technical building infrastructure
  • Further education in Facility Management would be an asset
  • Technical apprenticeship would be an asset
  • Several years of experience in energy and building service management would be an asset

 

Proficiency:

  • Excellent project management skills
  • Proven expertise and successfully operating in project management engineering / construction, preferably in a pharmaceutical environment
  • Proven expertise in sustainable project optimizations under life cycle aspects
  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • Assertiveness
  • Excellent team skills, especially working in and leading interdisciplinary and multicultural teams
  • Advanced skills in CAFM and CAD software solutions or similar
  • Advanced language skills in English and German (must have)
  • Good skills in MS Office
