We are looking for a Temporary Software Engineer-Java Developer to join our great team !

 

 

Job Responsibilities

 

  • Proactively develop professional and innovative software for drug discovery, by transforming requirements from pharmacologists, biologists and chemists into user-friendly applications
  • Maintain and operate these software applications and server components
  • Acquire an in-depth understanding of the business processes in drug discovery
  • Using and contributing to a rich framework of functional classes and GUI components
  • Contribute to interdisciplinary information technology related software projects and technical collaborations with external software engineers and scientists
  • Administer parts of the Research Information Computing Infrastructure


 

Candidate’s Requirements 

 

  • Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in computer science, bio-informatics, chemistry, or similar professional experience in software engineering
  • Java expert with substantial experience in desktop development (Swing, JavaFX)
  • Full-stack software development, requirements engineering, software architecture, design patterns, OOP, unit- and integration-testing
  • Comprehensive knowledge of relational databases: JDBC, JPA/Hibernate, SQL, ERMs, stored procedures
  • Knowledge in related technologies/frameworks like cloud (AWS), Spring, OpenAPI, REST, JavaScript is an asset.
  • Solid understanding of natural science, chemistry and/or biology is a plus
  • Fluent in English and German or French
  • Good problem-solving skills, analytical thinking, and understanding of existing code
  • Pragmatic problem-solving attitude
  • Motivated, reliable, and a committed team player
