Job Responsibilities

 

The VP, Head of Global Access, Value & Pricing  is responsible for defining and driving the global market access, value, and pricing strategy for priority pipeline and launch assets across their lifecycle.

The role serves as the global market access representative within cross-functional asset teams, ensuring payer requirements are embedded into product development, evidence generation, launch planning, pricing strategies, and lifecycle management to facilitate timely patient access and maximize asset value.

Working closely with Commercial, Clinical Development, Medical Affairs, Regulatory, Finance, and Regional Access teams, the role translates complex payer and reimbursement requirements into actionable global strategies and enables successful local execution.

 

  • Define and lead global market access strategies from early development through launch and lifecycle management.
  • Act as the core market access representative on global asset teams and provide strategic access leadership across functions.
  • Embed payer requirements into target product profiles, clinical development plans, integrated product strategies, and indication sequencing.
  • Provide access input on clinical endpoints, comparators, target populations, outcomes measures, and evidence-generation plans.
  • Develop payer-focused evidence roadmaps aligned with development milestones and launch objectives.
  • Build robust payer value propositions tailored to key reimbursement and Health Technology Assessment (HTA) stakeholders.
  • Design and execute integrated global access roadmaps covering reimbursement, affordability, pricing, and access considerations.
  • Identify potential market access barriers and develop mitigation strategies based on payer insights and evolving healthcare policies.
  • Lead payer research, competitive access assessments, and reimbursement landscape analyses across priority markets.
  • Design innovative access solutions, including managed entry agreements, value-based arrangements, patient support programs, and affordability initiatives.
  • Ensure access strategies are compliant and adaptable to regional and local healthcare systems.
  • Co-lead global pricing strategy development in collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Establish and support pricing governance frameworks to optimize global and local pricing decisions.
  • Assess and manage pricing risks, including international reference pricing implications and downstream market impact.
  • Develop and maintain key global access deliverables, including Global Value Dossiers, payer value decks, value narratives, and reimbursement materials.
  • Create global access toolkits and support regional and country teams with payer engagement, submissions, negotiations, and launch preparation.
  • Partner with forecasting and finance teams to ensure access assumptions are reflected in commercial forecasts and business planning.
  • Monitor healthcare policy, reimbursement, HTA, and regulatory developments and translate implications into strategic recommendations.
  • Support launch readiness activities to ensure successful payer engagement and market access execution.
  • Represent the global access perspective in governance discussions, asset teams, and external partnerships where appropriate.
  • Drive alignment between Global, Regional, and Local teams to ensure consistent and effective access strategies across markets.

 

Candidate's Requirements

 

  • University degree in Life Sciences, Health Economics, Economics, Business Administration, Public Health, or a related discipline.
  • Significant experience in Market Access, Pricing, Value Strategy, or Reimbursement within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry.
  • Proven experience shaping market access strategies for pipeline and launch assets.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare systems, reimbursement pathways, payer decision-making, and Health Technology Assessment (HTA) processes across major markets.
  • Experience integrating payer requirements into clinical development, evidence generation, and commercialization planning.
  • Demonstrated success leading complex cross-functional initiatives within matrix organizations.
  • Strong knowledge of global pricing strategy development and pricing governance principles.
  • Experience supporting launch readiness and commercialization activities for innovative therapies.
  • Strong analytical capabilities and ability to translate clinical, economic, and real-world evidence into compelling payer value propositions.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, stakeholder management, and influencing skills.
  • Ability to align diverse stakeholders without direct authority.
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills within complex healthcare environments.
  • Experience collaborating across global, regional, and local organizations.
  • Strong understanding of reimbursement, affordability, and patient access challenges across international markets.
  • Payer engagement and negotiation experience preferred.
  • Experience in Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR) considered a strong advantage.
  • Experience contributing to economic models, value dossiers, real-world evidence strategies, and payer evidence planning desirable.
