Job Profile

  • Lead and manage a team of ~10 (Senior)MSLs in 3 countries, aligned with the brand and medical strategy for the company’s plans.
  • Ensure the MSL perspective and insights are continuously shared with the Extended Brand Team and shape the local strategy as appropriate.
  • Ensure MSL deliverables are met as agreed (Medical Plan, MTA, Objectives)
  • Ensure MSL budget is tracked and met as agreed.
  • Champion the non-promotional compliant behaviour required for MSL working in Germany, Austria and Switzerland as per company principles, FSA Code of Practice and respective law (for example AHG, HWG). 
  • Develop strong relationships with HCPs and provide them with credible, fair and balanced non-promotional scientific information about Idorsia and its products, research activities, and Idorsia product development while understanding their perspectives, including challenges when treating patients.
  • Liaise with key internal stakeholders and build strong partnerships within all relevant functions to create the best possible impact for the patient, the therapeutic area and the territory via non-promotional activities.
  • As a leader, support the team with personal development, coaching and guidance.
  • Act as a therapeutic area and product expert as evidenced by regular review of relevant literature, participation in relevant scientific congresses and conferences, and internal therapeutic area training, and to develop competitive intelligence on other products in the therapeutic area.
  • Knowledge sharing, including KOL and site profiling, insight gathering, and education both internally and externally will be a key area of responsibility.
  • Exemplify and execute non-promotional compliant behaviour required for MSL working in Germany, Austria and Switzerland as per company principles, FSA Code of Practice and respective law (for example HWG, AWG).
  • Participation and /or lead in organizing HCP advisory board meetings or round tables.
  • Assist the medical affairs team in the identification of potential investigators and research projects. This may include assistance with investigator-sponsored trial process, sponsored study site identification, recruitment strategies, and collaboration with clinical operations.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all activities are in line with regulatory, compliance and legal requirements.

 

Requirements

  • Medical, Pharmacy or Scientific degree.
  • A preferred deep knowledge of the key MSL activities and processes with minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role in Germany, Austria or Switzerland.
  • Previous leadership and people management experience is required.
  • Diversified product launch experience, ideally in the area of neuroscience.
  • Professional experience within DACH medical functions and ability to participate in productive scientific dialogue with KOLs and researchers.
  • Ability to present and discuss scientific material clearly and concisely through a variety of channels including face to face and digital.
  • Skilled in clinical research and an understanding of the process of pharmaceutical product development and approval.
  • Willing to travel within DACH and head office as required.
  • Experience in working in a highly regulated environment and to adhere to all external (for example FSA, BDI) and internal guidelines and standard operating procedures (SOPs), while responding to a variety of questions and requests from HCPs.
  • Able to work independently and be a self-starter.
  • Manage ambiguity and be pragmatic.
  • Flexible and willing to adapt to changing priorities and focus.
  • Excellent language skills in German and English.
