Job Profile

 

 

 

  • Lead the development and execution of the Medical Affairs strategies for the German market, in alignment with the Senior Medical Director DACH and in collaboration with cross-functional partners.  
  • Establish and maintain engagement of external experts (KEEs), patient advocacy groups, professional societies and other key stakeholders in the country, in alignment with the Medical Affairs strategy.
  • Collaborate with Global Medical Affairs and Clinical Development on interactions with external experts and investigators participating in clinical trials, investigator meetings, advisory boards and symposia.
  • Develop, organize and lead medical educational projects, including scientific symposia, webinars and round table and support cross-functional educational events. 
  • Manage innovative real-world evidence (RWE) generation programs led by Idorsia & collaborate with MSLs (Medical Science Liaison) to evaluate and support investigator-initiated studies or other medical projects with centers of excellence.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Medical Director DACH in successfully managing a non-interventional study in Germany, including external advice from an external scientific Study Steering Committee.
  • Develop product specific training for Medical Science Liaison (MSL) and commercial teams in Germany to deepen the product and scientific knowledge within the therapeutic area and create scientifically sound and balanced medical decks for external use.
  • Collaborate with other medical and cross-functional functions, to ensure aligned strategy and execution of agreed tactics.
  • Communicate in a compelling, clear and precise manner the medical value of Idorsia products, inside and outside Idorsia.
  • Organize advisory boards and follow-up on actionable insights.
  • Assess both non-promotional and promotional materials to ensure that all claims are supported by scientific data and presented in an accurate, fair and balanced manner, ensuring compliance with Idorsia SOPs as well as legal and ethical standards.
  • Develop and implement an up-to-date scientific communication plan for Idorsia products, supporting the MSL-team in medical communication of Idorsia data, advances in the scientific indication and treatment environment in Germany.
  • Manage and track agreed Medical Budget.
  • Foster adherence to all relevant legal, regulatory, and healthcare compliance requirements, corporate policies, and procedures, and drive this culture in the local organization.
  • Act as Information Officer (Informationsbeauftragte/r) according to §74a AMG.

 

 

 

Requirements

 

  • Medical, Pharmacy or Scientific degree (MD, PhD or PharmD preferred)
  • Minimum 5-years of experience in medical affairs functions
  • Ideally experience in Psychiatry or Neurology and/or insomnia
  • Experience in medical affairs roles at country level, with a demonstrated track record of clinical and post market study conduct and study data analysis
  • Proven experience in leading the generation and implementation of the medical country strategy and respective budget tracking 
  • Excellent strategic, analytical and communication skills
  • In depth experience in scientific communication, generation of scientific material as well as review of medical and commercial material
  • Proven track record of successful KEE engagement and organization of advisory boards and symposia
  • Good understanding of the medical activities required at each stage of a product lifecycle
  • Excellent prioritization and organizational skills
  • Ability and enthusiasm in building effective and constructive partnerships with broad stakeholder groups internally and externally
  • Ability to operate compliantly in a dynamic, science-driven environment 
  • Excellent english- and german language skills
