Associate Director, Medical Information

The Associate Director, Medical Information (US) will support the establishment of the US Medical Information function at Idorsia and provide expertise specific to the needs of the products & US Medical Information resources development plan. Additionally, this role contributes to various US and Global Medical Information projects and processes such as, vendor management, SOP generation, digitally driven solutions implementation, etc. The US Product Specialist will adapt Global content & strategy based on local variations dictated by local customer needs and regulations in the US.

 

Specific accountabilities include:

  • Will lead the Medical Information efforts inclusive of direct reports. 
  • As an integral member of the US Medical Affairs and Global Medical Information teams, the Product Specialist will be delivering on the US & Global Medical Information strategy and driving its roll out by creating best in class local Medical Information resources (e.g. Standard Response Letters, FAQs, Med Info Insights Reports etc.) to support internal and external stakeholders.
  • Supports the creation of a robust Medical Information process that is fit for the business requirements and is audit- and inspection ready. This includes responsibility for the implementation of Medical Information SOPs/Working Practices, supporting the Global Database implementation (including training of internal/external partners), Local content generation planning/execution, and metric & insights generation to drive business decisions.
  • Generates high quality Country-focused Medical Information resources such as Localized Standard Response Letters, FAQs, slide decks, and Customized Responses to address US HCP and various other customer inquiries.
    • Reflects the scientific data in a fair, balanced way
    • Local Standard content is drafted according to the TA/Product Strategy and customer insights
    • Custom content is drafted as a matter of priority to address HCP and other customer requests with a sense of urgency and in coordination with various internal stakeholders
  • Coordinating with external agencies and partners that support any administrative Medical Information tasks;
  • Responsible for USMA medical review of US Marketing promotional materials as part of a Medico-Legal-Regulatory (MLR) review process as part of the Idorsia Review Committee
  • Supports the US Medical Directors in the Medical Review Committee process for medico-scientific materials
  • Responsible for training US Medical and US Commercial colleagues on the US Medical Information process and on the key content generation plans and deliverables.
  • Ensures on all levels cross-functional collaboration, particularly with Pharmacovigilance, Quality Assurance, Marketing, Market Access, Regulatory and R&D.

 

The US Medical Information Product Specialist will be co-located with the rest of the US Medical Affairs team at the US Affiliate headquarters in Radnor (Philadelphia), Pennsylvania.

 

Candidate Profile

 

The Medical Information Product Specialist will be an experienced professional with a strong, successful track record in medical information including in high pace, high volume therapeutic areas.

Specifically, the successful candidate will demonstrate the following:

 

Experience:

 

  • Bachelor degree in a scientific field and minimum 8 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry predominantly in the medical information function; Master’s or doctorate degree is an additional advantage.  Will consider education in lieu of experience.
  • Experience in a medical information role working in a regional and/or global matrix environment is highly advantageous
  • Prior experience leading others required, leading others in a start up environment highly preferred
  • Proven track record of delivering high quality Medical Information resources (e.g. Standard Response Letters, FAQs, Med Info Insights Reports etc.) and operating within various cross-functional projects to improve functional capabilities
  • Strong communication (oral and written) skills and ability to effectively work within multicultural environment
