Office based position located in Radnor, PA with anticipated 30% travel required


The Director, Portfolio Payer Marketing will play a critical role in the successful launch of Idorsia’s Insomnia product in the US Market. This role will report directly to the Head of HCP Marketing and serve as a key strategic partner within the broader marketing team as well as cross functional partners. The most critical of these partnerships will be collaboration with the market access team to ensure marketing and market access strategies are aligned. The role will be the brand lead for all market access / payer efforts.


This role will also lead efforts to design innovative customer support and engagement programs to provide a best-in-class customer experience and help patients secure access to Daridorexant. The role will lead all marketing efforts related to such programs and broader market access efforts, including development of national, regional, and local field resources. Finally, this role will be an important contributor to cross functional bodies focused on evidence generation and value proposition development for Daridorexant.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Collaborate with market access, medical affairs, and marketing leadership to co-develop strategies and execution plans
  • Coordinate regularly with market access colleagues to ensure alignment and pull-through of strategy
  • Design and support execution of innovative patient support programs (e.g. patient HUB, co-pay, adherence, etc.)
  • Lead development of key materials to support field efforts and marketing of patient / payer programs
  • Attend regular cross functional working sessions (e.g. evidence generation teams)
  • Ongoing engagement with marketing leadership to review strategic plans and stay aligned to overall launch / product strategy
  • Responsible for budget and agency management
  • Responsible for ongoing assessment of competitive landscape and overall performance




  • Bachelor’s degree required, MBA preferred
  • 10 years of pharmaceutical industry experience in sales / marketing / market access functions
  • People management and/or team management experience is required – must demonstrate excellent leadership skills with the ability to work effectively in a matrixed and unstructured environment
  • Demonstrated experience in critical marketing competencies is required – must be innovative, proactive, and strong analytically with excellent business acumen
  • Insomnia knowledge and background is highly preferred
  • Insomnia sales/marketing experience is highly preferred. 
  • Previous pharma sales or sales management experience is preferred
  • Experience with strategic planning and tactical execution preferred                                              


Skills required:


  • Demonstrated success working cross-functionally with departments within the commercial organization as well as with the broader organization (medical affairs, HEOR, regulatory/ legal, etc.)
  • Experience assessing commercial insights and developing tools that are meaningful for HCPs, patients, and payers
  • Ability to blend strategic thinking with genuine interest in tactical execution
  • Strong business acumen and sense of urgency in sharing critical information with relevant stakeholders
  • Flexibility to adapt to a fast-changing, ambiguous environment in an organization without fully established procedures
  • Strong commitment to compliant and ethical behavior
  • Ability to develop clear, pragmatic solutions to complex problems
