This position requires an onsite presence at the US Commercial headquarters in Radnor, PA.  Candidates must be willing to commute.


The Payroll Manager will be a member of Idorsia’s US finance team, reporting directly to the Sr Director, US Financial Operations, with secondary reporting to the Sr Director, US HR.


The Payroll Manager has primary responsibility for insuring that Idorsia’s US employees are properly paid in accordance with the company’s compensation policies and procedures and in compliance with federal, state and local laws and regulations in all applicable jurisdictions.


The Payroll Manager will be responsible to:


  • Develop, review, and implement best practices to improve payroll processes
  • Oversee employee payroll accounting, transactions, and reporting activities
  • Create new state applications as new employees are hired living in states where no employees exist; new tax set up to ensure employees are being paid correctly
  • Liaise with external provider to ensure that payroll is properly processed
  • Assist in payroll calculations, deductions, insurance coverage, wage garnishments, tax filings, disability reporting and child support
  • Support 401k and FSA plans with respect to contributions, funding and reconciliation
  • Maintain employee payroll records up-to-date and accurate
  • Prepare employee wage summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leaves, retirement savings and benefits
  • Address payroll related queries and requests from employees with a high level of customer service
  • Analyze payroll problems and provide appropriate resolutions
  • Follow and enforce federal, state and local laws
  • Coordinate with HR and finance teams to carry out payroll processing
  • Assist in audit operations and implement audit recommendations


Key qualifications include:


  • High School Diploma/GED Required; Associates or Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 9+ years of processing payroll within the US, multi-location, multi-jurisdictional businesses
  • Strong working knowledge of Paychex Flex or other similar payroll systems, and exposure to HR Online systems
  • Knowledge of basic structures for compensation, taxes and wages
  • Proficiency in information analysis, including use of spreadsheet tools
  • Practiced in confidentiality
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Experience in small, fast-growing environments a plus
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities; performs effectively under pressure
  • Exceptional attention to detail
