Associate Director, Supply Chain (hybrid role)

The Associate Director, Supply Chain, as part of a Global Supply Chain organization, has primary scope and remit to US Supply Chain activities.  This position focuses on all the major components of commercial supply chain including S&OP, Logistics/Product Import, Inventory & Order Fulfillment, Master Data & Analytics as well as strategy & communications.

 

As part of a new and growing organization this role will have an opportunity to work closely with various cross functional teams in the selection and implementation of new Supply Chain partners as needed.  This role will work with Global Supply Chain team such as PNT (Product Network Team) got new product introduction ensuring supply chain representation and deliverables in all US Launch & Commercial strategy planning and execution.

 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

 

  • Ensures effective supply chain operations, including 3PL logistics, order fulfilment and cross-functional collaboration with both global and local stakeholders (e.g., Finance, Quality Assurance, Market Access, Regulatory and IT). 
  • Manages a large volume of data and analytics associated to external 3PL system and internal SAP system including Customer master, sales order, packing & shipping schedules, monitoring slow, no mover, expiry dates, inventory levels based on demand, 3PL daily cycle counts and return product and investigate any damage goods during transportation as needed, etc…
  • Period-end data management including inventory reconciliations between Idorsia’s SAP and external parties such as 3PL and Pharmacy. Investigating and reconciling discrepancies. Implement and analyze key performance metrics and trends to drive performance understanding and improvements.
  • Key contributor to US Supply Chain strategy development & implementation leading to continuous improvement, harmonization and standardization of all processes and activities.
  • Executes optimal and efficient approach for US inventory, warehouse and distribution process and has accountability for inbound and outbound inventory optimization and service levels through S&OP. 
  • Must ensure compliance with all organizational policies and procedures including US FDA, DEA, and Customs compliance requirements.
  • Manages effective communication frequently within a matrixed organization between vendor, supplier, senior management and cross-functional teams in different levels of the organization.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree required.  Preferably in a Supply Chain field.
  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience in a Supply Chain role (can include Warehousing, Distribution) in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Must have experience with 3PL (third party logistics) partnerships
  • Must have experience with FDA/Customs/DEA import of controlled substances
  • Must have transactional and Master Data experience with SAP (R3 or S4H) relating to warehousing & distribution (mainly SD & MM modules). 
  • Must be able to manage and assimilate large sets of data via the use of Excel for validity and accuracy, Ability to manage multiple priorities/projects.
  • Travel will be required of this role both domestically and internationally.
