The Communications Manager is responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive, multi-channel internal communications strategy to drive awareness, business performance, organizational culture, and team member engagement. Additionally, this role will secure thought leadership opportunities for the US Leadership Team as well as assisting with website and social media development and oversight.  While these are the main responsibilities, the Communications Manager will also assist on a variety of projects including media relations and product communications.  Must be an effective communicator, strong collaborator with key stakeholders (e.g., HR, Marketing, Sales), and be able to influence, build and oversee our internal communications capabilities.


Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Oversee branding guidelines and internal asset management
  • Manage the Idorsia US website and intranet
  • Collaborate with domestic field sales force to uncover, vet, and cultivate potential media stories and internal communications topics
  • Secure thought leadership opportunities for the US Leadership Team
  • Assist with management of US corporate social media channels
  • Manage the review of materials, including attending regular Idorsia Review Committee meetings
  • Assist as needed with other duties as assigned including external communications, product communications, media relations and issues management




  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Journalism or Communications
  • 5 years experience in internal corporate communications, preferably within the pharmaceutical industry
  • Superior communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively address and engage all levels within the organization, and communicate and articulate clear, effective messages that enhance and promote the mission, goals, and business objectives of the company
  • Ability to drive innovative internal communication strategies that engage employees across multiple platforms (intranet, video, digital monitors and newsletters, event postings, presentations, etc.)
  • Experience with email communications and measurement systems, intranet platforms, content management systems, and other technologies designed to support internal communication strategies
  • Experience working with senior leadership and executives to provide communication counsel and act as a trusted resource
  • Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word and PowerPoint
